anxiety

Your body is buzzing with anxious energy and your mind is stuck in a loop of worry, often overthinking every decision and feeling paralyzed by all the ways things could go wrong.  Maybe you struggle to relax, even in situations that should feel safe or enjoyable, or you’ve begun avoiding settings where increased anxiety is possible.  Anxiety is our brain’s way of trying to protect us, alerting us to potential danger and encouraging caution.  But sometimes, it can be misguided, keeping us stuck in cycles of fear and self-doubt that prevent us from being fully present in our lives.  While some anxiety is adaptive, it’s the fear of the anxiety that really creates suffering.  Therapy can help us untangle from our fears of the emotion itself, fostering greater tolerance of our experiences and the possibility of reconnecting with the things that make life meaningful.

depression

Your days feel heavy, and it’s as though a cloud has settled over your mind, dimming the things that once brought you joy or energy. Maybe it’s hard to get out of bed, find motivation, or shake the persistent feeling that things won’t get better. You may have completely disconnected from your support network, questioning your worth or purpose and finding it hard to express your internal experience in a way that anyone close to you would understand. Depression, in its own way, is a response to pain — an attempt by the mind to shield itself, though often it leaves us feeling isolated and numb. Therapy can help unravel this response, learning to meet sadness with compassion and reconnect with the parts of ourselves that still long for meaning.

trauma

Navigating the pain of trauma can feel as though your nervous system has gone haywire. You feel on edge, easily startled, or you shut down as a way to cope with overwhelming emotions. The effects of trauma have a way of lingering, keeping us locked in patterns of fear and survival. Therapy, including tools like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), can help us fully process and, ultimately, release these stuck memories. Through trauma-informed therapy, we can safely revisit and reframe traumatic experiences, reducing their grip on your life and creating a space for healing. Together, we can work towards reclaiming a sense of safety and resilience.
